After a successful career as a Sales Representative and Territorial Manager with Labatt Breweries of Canada, Hilary followed her creative instincts and launched One for the Wall, Inc. in 2008. What began as a bold career shift has since grown into a thriving photography studio, where she has captured the stories of more than 5,000 families across Southwestern Ontario over the past 17 years.

After a successful career as a Sales Representative and Territorial Manager with Labatt Breweries of Canada, Hilary followed her creative instincts and launched One for the Wall, Inc. in 2008. What began as a bold career shift has since grown into a thriving photography studio, where she has captured the stories of more than 5,000 families across Southwestern Ontario over the past 17 years.

By 2011, Hilary expanded her work into the commercial and corporate world, crafting powerful imagery for marketing campaigns, executive portraits, and professional profiles. Known for her mastery of both natural and studio light, she quickly became the go-to photographer in the region’s vibrant business community.

Her portfolio extends well beyond the corporate space—actors, musicians, speakers, and other creatives are drawn to her dramatic lighting and artful compositions, making her a trusted name in the arts and entertainment industry. In recognition of her contributions to her community, Hilary was honoured with the K-W Oktoberfest Rogers Woman of the Year in Arts & Culture Award in 2018.

Hilary believes deeply in the power of a photograph to shift perceptions and to tell stories about our communities with greater authenticity. Drawing on her Journalism and Film Studies background she set out to tell people’s stories beyond her commissioned work when 11 years ago she began photographing the annual fundraising calendar for the Waterloo Wellington Down syndrome society. This annual collaboration became instrumental in the contribution of the imagery you see online today.

Her imagery has been featured in numerous media outlets across the world; most notably People Magazine.

In 2024, in celebration of this huge milestone, Digital Sabbath produced a documentary on Hilary’s work in the Down syndrome community. This was first screened in front of 500 people at an event to honour all of the work that the WWDSS and Hilary have done to fill the gap of authentic imagery when telling stories about the lives of those living with Down syndrome.
